Assignment 28: Your Exist Strategy

So I guess for my exist strategy I would chose to stay with it and then retire.

I wouldn't want to sell the business because it could easily become something that damages the environment instead of helps it and I wouldn't save it for a family business because I don't know if I am having any children.
It would be nice to be able to do something that I am passionate about for the rest of my life. Being able to retire from that would be nice as well. Considering the fact that now a days many people don't get to stay retired and have had to go back into the work force to support themselves.

I think this strategy has effect my overall concept because it has kept the business some with only a few making decisions. Overall though I think it has influences my ideas because I have kept the business personal. I have tried to kept it about the cause instead of about making all the money right off the back, so selling the business as never been on the table for a return investment.

  1. Hi Kaitlyn. I think it’s great that you want to stick with a good cause and oversee it until your retirement. I agree that it would be nice to work on something you enjoy. We spend a significant portion of our lives at work, so it helps when we can find satisfaction in the work we do. Moreover, it’s commendable that you won’t let short-term profits guide your decision-making process for a cause with such potential for good. One recommendation I have is to surround yourself with employees who are just as invested in the cause as you are.

  2. Hi Kaitlyn,
I like how you want to help the environment instead of focusing in creating sales. I agree that when you are passionate about your work, you can enjoy and be more proactive. Not everybody gets to do what they love. I think that if you ever decide to sell your business, you could use that money to help social causes that you care about. Good post.
