Assignment 9: Testing Hypothesis, Part 2
Who: For my serves there are going to be people who do not really care about the environment. Being that we live in the South and being in Florida with all of the states efforts that go into the conversation of our ecosystems. I personally had a bit of an issue trying to find people that completely don't care about the environment in anyway shape or form.
So for one of my interviews I talked to someone who is into hunting. Personally they don't particularly care about the environment, but they did care about the areas and the numbers for the particular species that they enjoyed hunting. They only really working with population number though and wondered about how this effects themselves.
Most of what I got from my interviews was a once again a lack of education on the topic, a confusion for how this effects them personally, and why they should personally care.
What: One of the interviews asked the question of me that how is this going to actually stop the problem of these invasive plants being introduced. This is different from what I am doing because with my service is working on management of the problem.
Why: All of the interviews I talked to discussed how it wasn't so much that they didn't care but they didn't really think about it that topic along with the fact that they really don't know anything about invasive species besides them being apparently bad.
Inside the Boundary:
Who: People who understand and actively care about the environment
What: To create a service that would encourage people to learn about the environment.
To get people to care about the topic even if they usually don't.
Outside the Boundary:
Who: The people are never going to care about the environment. People who don't want to learn about the topic.
What: Complete eliminating invasive species from all environments. Making people care about the environment.
Why: Because we live on this planet and we need to make sure that we take care of it, because these ecosystems are a foundation for how we live.

Shalom Kaitie, I found your post quite interesting. I was especially interested by your whos. I feel like your whos are a little broad, but I do understand what your saying when you say people who care about the environment. I think once your products are more defined you will be able to refine your target market. Overall, great job with this post. I really like how well organized it is as well, very easy to follow. I may have to take some of your style!
ReplyDeleteHi Kaitie,
ReplyDeleteI liked that your idea focuses in the environment. I was going to do something similar related to the environment but I decided to do something I am really passionate about. You are right there is a lot of people who really do not care about the environment, and I think is mostly due to ignorance or lack of information . Creating a campaign to inform people could actually help communities understand the reasons behind your project. Keep the hard work!
