Assignment 12: Figuring Out Buyer Behavior, Number 1
Greetings everyone, so for my company Leafy Lifestyles we would be looking at the market segment of home owners.
So for my interviews I looked for people who owned a home. For the most part they talked about how they don't really do anything in particular for the environment. Two of them of them did talk bout how they use the recycling unit that their local trash service offers, which was just a separate bin that they have out next to their trash for things like plastics. One of the also talked about how they tried to use fabric bags instead of the plastic. All of them stated that if there was other way to help that they would like to though.
They did talk about how they do try to buy product that don't intentionally harm the environment, but with some packaging and with certain materials, it is hard to get around it. All three brought up a concern with price though, as alternative can be expensive when they are looking at changing methods of production that is already in play. On person actually specifically brought up air filters, which I found to be interesting as that was one of the product we as a company are looking at.
Overall I do think that people if they are given an affordable alternative would at least looking into trying to to switch over to it. And we may want to look away from just the everyday user as well. The company could look at being a luxury if we needed to.
